Learning Objectives: Explain Options at End of Life and the role of hospice.
- Discuss and explore grief, bereavement, and alternative burial options at the end of life. Integrate patient values, priorities, and family voices in discussing end of life options. Effectively communicate and discuss advanced care planning, prognostication and delivering bad news in the setting of serious illness.
- Examine cultural, spiritual and psychosocial concerns at the end of life.
- Outline the basics of pediatric and geriatric care at the end of life.
Audience: Physicians, physician assistants, nurses, advanced care practitioner, social workers, hospice clinicians, spiritual care representatives , hospital administrators, hospice administrators and staff, long-term care and skilled nursing facilities administrators and staff, medical residents and fellows, and all others interested in the subject matter.
