Presentations and Options:
End-of-Life Options in New Mexico
This presentation covers the full spectrum of end-of-life care options available in New Mexico, including continuing treatment and medical aid in dying, for those who meet legal requirements. It includes a detailed overview of the Elizabeth Whitefield End-of-Life Options Act, enacted in 2021, highlighting essential aspects and recent legislative changes.
Advance Healthcare Planning and Directives
This session provides a comprehensive look at Advance Healthcare Directives. We will discuss their importance, who should have them, and the key components. Participants will also receive resources to help make informed choices about their healthcare wishes.
Combined: End-of-Life Options AND Advance Healthcare Planning and Directives in New Mexico
Both topics can be combined into a single 75 – 90-minute session. This option provides a general overview and includes time for questions and discussion but may not delve into the depth of detail offered in the individual presentations.
Workshop Options:
Completing an Advance Healthcare Directive Workshop
This interactive workshop guides participants through the process of completing their own Advance Healthcare Directives. It includes discussions on relevant topics and encourages participants to finalize their documents and express their wishes. For optimal engagement, we recommend small groups of 5-10 participants per table. If space allows, multiple groups can be accommodated in larger rooms, and additional sessions can be arranged if needed.
