The Memory Care Alliance’s Caregiver Day April 13th

This year’s keynote speaker:

  • Gary Glazner, founder of the Alzheimer’s Poetry Project, acclaimed speaker, poet and author. “Celebrating Creativity in Caregiving”
    The Alzheimer’s Poetry Project (APP) is an innovative program for people living with Alzheimer’s or other related illness. The goal is to facilitate self-expression through poetry, performance and creativity. Visit alzpoetry.org to learn more about Gary and the APP.

  • Eileen Joyce, Certified Grief and Recovery Coach.  “Getting from Here to There. Finding Your Way From Today to Beyond”
  • Ruth Dennis, Licensed counselor with Vista Listens. “The Webs We Weave” (Family Dynamics and Dementia)
  • Valerie Tsosie, Founder and Director of So’Tsoh Foundation. “Self Care the Navajo Way.”
  • Lea VanMerkestyn, Director of Life Circle Adult Day Care. “Harmony in Every Moment. Enhancing Well-being at Life Circle Adult Day Center.”

  • Carol Andrade, Director of Sierra Vista. Carol has over 20 years experience in caring for elders who live with Alzheimer’s or any other related illness.
  • Julie Rivers, Experienced Elder Care Attorney with Buddy and McCarthy in Santa Fe.
  • Janet Smith, RN. Director of Community Palliative Care of Northern New Mexico.
  • Dr. Ann Garcia, Geriatrician. Director for the Center of Healthy Aging at St. Vincent’s.
  • Selected vendors and other related non-profits will also be on hand to share their resources with you. EOLONM Volunteers will host an information table where you can access materials and resources to help with you own advance healthcare planning. See you there!
