On March 16, 2021, HB 47 – The Elizabeth Whitefield End-of-Life Options Act officially passed its last hurdle in the New Mexico Legislature. With the NM House of Representatives voting 46-20 to concur with amendments made in the Senate. The bill now goes to the Governor for signature.
During its legislative journey, HB 47 was amended several times in both chambers of the NM Legislature. All amendments that were eventually adopted were considered “friendly” amendments by the bill sponsors and did not substantively impact the bills key provisions.
This document shows the amendments that were made in context of the bill that was originally proposed.
