Celebrating Bev Gholson, EOLONM Presenter

We are so pleased to celebrate Beverly Gholson – a supportive, positive and integral part of the EOLONM team and community. Bev is a wonderfully skilled presenter and brings a very rich tapestry of experience to her work at EOLONM.

She studied Sociology and Archaeology before law school and her professional life as an environmental lawyer.

After practicing for many years, Bev retired to pursue her interest in wildlife conservation which took her to Boulder, Colorado where she worked in flood recovery and ran a backpacking store and to Idaho where she worked with the Peregrine Fund and the World Center for Birds of Prey. Bev also lived in the Carolinas to work in wildlife and wetland conservation. She soon realized that she was allergic to mosquito repellent which led her to seek a place to live without mosquitoes.

After reading an article about the Elizabeth Whitefield End-of Life-Options Act and End of Life Options New Mexico (EOLONM) on the first anniversary of the Law in 2022, Bev applied to become an EOLONM volunteer. She trained as a Client Support Volunteer (CSV) as well as a Public Outreach and Education (POE) volunteer and also completed training as a death midwife because she wanted to deepen her knowledge.

Bev brings her background and extensive research to bear in her thoughtful and compassionate presentations. She has offered rich and extensive presentations at libraries, community centers, the Santa Fe Community College and to area Emergency Medical staff.

Bev has greatly enriched the community of EOLONM and we are all very grateful to her for her dedication to the work we share.

THANK YOU, BEV!
