May 16, 2024 at 2:52 pm Event Title: Wilcox and Myers Annual Estate Planning Forum Story: This is the story about a gentleman who stopped by our table at this event. He wanted to thank EOLONM for the support they provided for his mother, himself and his brothers during her recent MAID ingestion. He had received a presentation about MAID at a conference in 2023 and informed his mother, who had terminal cancer. She made plans shortly thereafter and proceeded with her ingestion in February 2024. He was very supportive of EOLONM, thankful that we were spreading the word about the law in NM and was happy to share his story. |

February 7, 2025 at 10:59 am Event Title: Comments to me from a neighbor Story: My dad’s health took a turn and I quickly flew to see him. I got to talk to him a little before they upped the morphine and anxiety meds, and he was pretty out of it after that. His breathing was super labored, his heart was pounding like crazy, and he couldn’t swallow, so it was hard to see and hear. I spent most of the next 30 hours with him, leaving only to eat. In the early morning hours, as I sat alongside him, I touched his shoulders and said “Dad, what are you waiting for? Go where it is easier. We all love you and we don’t want you to suffer anymore”. |
